The Coolpix are operated via the 8.7 inch large touch screen. The camera's focus align screen: by touching the subject on the screen, the camera focuses the selected object. Instant imaging is possible thanks to pre-installed software. Different effects such as fish-eye distortion or colour filters available are here.
The lens is equipped with a five times optical zoom and image stabilizer with moveable lens group. The focal length equals the range from 35 mm to 175 mm in the small-screen format. Videos draws on the S80 with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Via HDMI, connect the camera to a flat-screen TV.
Nikon provides off the camera with the software package "ViewNX 2". It is a movie editing software image editing and management software. The Coolpix S80 is available from early October in red and black for 349 euro.
